11.2.2 Type B Timer

Timer2, Timer4, Timer6 and Timer8, if present, are Type B timers. A Type B timer consists of the

following specific features:

• It can be concatenated with a Type C timer to form a 32-bit timer.

• The external clock input (TxCK) is always synchronized to the internal device clock and

clock synchronization is performed after TxCK is divided by the prescaler. The advantage

of clock synchronization after division by the prescaler is explained in

11.4.3 “Synchronous Counter Mode”.

Figure 11-2 shows a block diagram of the Type B timer.
